ME YOU and a COUCH

some of the best times you can have as a couple (in my limited knowledge of being married) is alone time together sitting on the couch talking sharing the day and cuddling up to watch a movie. the past couple of weekends when Micah has been at his dad's house Renee and I took a slower approach to our weekend and enjoyed each others company. Out of this you all get to benefit as well because we saw some pretty good movies. here are a list of movies that i would recommend out of these weekends.

Reign Over ME - Adam Sandler and Don Cheedle it is a serious tear jerker, adam sandler plays a 911 widower suffering with PTSD and Don Cheedle was his old college roommate trying to help his friend move on with life. very good movie don't expect it to be a typical Adam Sandler movie he was really good in it however. to capture the realness of someone suffering PTSD in this particular case there is a lot of raw language and emotion, i wouldn't recommend this one to children but it is a very good movie and to a future counselor that may face a client with PTSD it was very educational to me as well.

Stranger than Fiction- Will Ferrell plays an IRS Tax auditor and lives a very bland life till an author starts to narrate his life and gets to a point where she trys to kill his character. this movie was good, little bit of funny little bit of romance, little bit of sadness all wrapped into a movie worth checking it out.

Brave One- this movie was really good, very sad, and full of action. Jodi Foster is a Radio Talk show host, while her and her fiance where walking the Dog they suffer an attack where her fiance dies and she starts to take revenge on the bad people of new york city. there is so much more to this movie that is just to peak your interest. it is a good movie however it is rated R and has violence and language and has parts that make you sad and angry. rent it but don't watch with your kids

Fracture- Anthony Hopkins plays an aerospace engineer and finds his wife cheating on him. He then kills her and tries to get away wit it due to his high intelligence. there are very good twists to the movie. if you liked him in silence of the lambs you will like him in this movie.


We have something called the REDBOX out here where you can rent a movie out of like a vending machine and it is only a dollar a night, it is great and has all the new releases if you have one in your area it is a cheap way to watch movies and spend quality cuddle time on the couch with you loved ones... we rent movies to watch with micah all the time as well here are a few kid friendly movies


Game Plan - Dwayne "The ROCK" Johnson plays a quarter back for a professional team he is all about himself until he finds out he has a daughter and she changes his whole world. really funny movie kids will love it, adults will too. one to watch as a family.

Under Dog- i will be honest i did not get to watch this one Micah was watching it in the car as we were driving to the snow however, all i heard was laughing and giggling the whole time, he really liked it and wanted to watch it again when it was over. probably another great family movie.
